In finding a location and naming the brewery, JD and Jen wanted to invoke this same feelings of beauty, magic, and peace. They want to share these experiences and passions with others in hopes that he can, in some small way, instill in them that same sense of wonder and majesty. At Mountain Merman Brewing Company, we will strive to have something for everyone, something that is exciting and unique in an environment that is beautiful and fantastical. Through the attention to detail and care of the craft from the brewhouse to the tap room and beyond, we hope to convey that magical feel that the name inspires.

Owners

After working a corporate 9 to 5 desk job for many years, JD experienced the mental and emotional burnout so many do these days and had to find some respite. As part of his journey to rediscover his passion and purpose in life, he began spending time in the mountains, on the river – his happy place. JD spent countless hours with his feet in the water, watching the rain clouds roll in over the looming peak, anticipating that tug on the end of his line. This time and these experiences allowed him to heal, and he began finding himself and finding peace. The beautiful rivers and lakes of the mountains of Colorado breathed new life into him – his surroundings felt new and fantastical and gave him a sense of pure magic. JD began to feel at one with the water and his fly rod and wanted to stay in that place forever. This is how Mountain Merman came to be. Mountain Merman is JD. These 2 words truly capture the beauty and magic he discovered during this period of self-reflection that is core to his being.
